The YWCA Elgin announced the nominees for the thirty-second annual Leader Luncheon Awards and EYPN’s very own Kari Christensen was among them.
Kari was nominated for the Marguerite Henry Award for Communication/Technology for her volunteer service to many Elgin area organizations as well as her dedication to promoting the Elgin community thru thoughtful and thorough social media and marketing practices. Kari owns and operates Trillium Link LLC, a consulting company that provides writing services, creative assistance and social media services to particularly budget conscious organizations such as nonprofits and small businesses.

The 2015 YWCA Elgin Leader Luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 7 at The Seville in Streamwood beginning at 11am. The event is attended by hundreds of community leaders, businesses, not for profit representatives and volunteers to acknowledge and honor women from Elgin and surrounding communities who have made significant contributions to the Arts, Business & Professions, Communications/Technology, Education, Public Service, Social Service, Volunteer/Community Service and Racial Justice.

Elgin Young Professionals Network was among several individuals, organizations and projects honored with an Elgin Image Award at the 23rd Annual Elgin Image Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 19 at The Centre of Elgin’s Heritage Ballroom.
We are very proud of our network’s accomplishments and humbled to be recognized by the City of Elgin’s Image Commission. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and nominees.

Elgin’s Image Advisory Commission is now seeking nominations for its prestigious Image Awards which annually recognizes individuals, businesses and organizations that have had a positive impact on Elgin.
Categories include Individual/Professional, Individual/Volunteer, Projects (such as special events, fundraising projects and neighborhood improvements), Organizations/Businesses and Citizenship.
The deadline to submit nominations is January 23, 2015 at 5pm. Winners are selected by members of the Image Advisory Commission, and will be honored at the annual Image Awards event scheduled for March 19, 2015 at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way. Nomination forms are available on the City’s website www.cityofelgin.org, Robert Gilliam Municipal Complex and The Centre of Elgin.
