EYPN Cash Mob: Brittain’s Oil & Lube

brittainsOn Saturday, September 26 from 8am-3pm, Elgin Young Professionals Network presents its Fall Cash Mob taking place at Brittain’s Express Oil & Lube, 1572 Larkin Avenue in Elgin.

Stop in for a car wash or an oil change that day and register for a chance to win a raffle package of 10 car washes or another raffle prize of a free oil change.

Much like a Flash Mob, a Cash Mob is where shoppers are invited to show up en masse to “mob” the local business on a set date and time frame to shop, socialize and spend. Participants are also encouraged beforehand to spread the word to their spheres of influence thru their social media channels and word-of-mouth to effectively deliver one huge day of sales to these local businesses.

To date, our EYPN members have successfully mobbed:

  • Elgin Books & Coffee
  • SpaceTaste Gallery
  • State Street Market
  • Downtown Elgin Harvest Market
  • Herb’s Bakery
  • Tinsel Holiday Pop-Up Shop
  • The Flower Wagon, South Elgin

Join us on Saturday, September 26 to support this local business!

Tweet Night at the Elgin Symphony Orchestra – Encore!

TweetNightOur first Elgin Symphony Orchestra social night earlier this year was so well received, we are happy to announce that we are again partnering with ESO for an encore Tweet Night at the Symphony, taking place on Saturday, October 17 at The Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way in downtown Elgin.

We will meet at Martini Room, 161 E. Chicago Street, for pre-concert drinks from 6-7pm. Then head over to The Hemmens before the Out of this World: Sci-Fi Movie Classics concert at 7:30pm, where you’ll hear themes from classic sci-fi movies such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Back to the Future and more!

ESO has graciously provided us with 30 seats in the upper balcony where we can get our social media on and live tweet about this awesome experience as it happens.

After the concert, we are invited to Elgin Public House, 219 E. Chicago Street in downtown Elgin to enjoy a cash bar, free apps and to mingle with the musicians and patrons.

Special discounted tickets are only $10 per person! If you have never been to an Elgin Symphony Orchestra concert, this is a great opportunity to witness one of Elgin’s true cultural gems in person.

If you are interested in attending, you must e-mail Jason Pawlowski at jpawlowski@elginchamber.com by Friday, October 9. Tickets are first come, first serve.

Payment is due in full to EYPN by Monday, October 12 – no exceptions. Preferred payment is cash or check (payable to EYPN). Please do not order your tickets directly from the ESO Box Office as those tickets will not be discounted.

Let’s pack the house that night and blow up Twitter about EYPN, ESO and Elgin!
